Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of video education program on anxiety and satisfaction with nursing care of laparoscopic hysterectomy patients.

Method: This study used a non-equivalent control group design. The experimental group (n=30) received video education program and routine care while control group (n=30) received routine care only. The anxiety was measured using State-Trait anxiety inventory scale developed by Spielberger (1975) and modified by Kim & Shin (1978). Patient¡¯s satisfaction with nursing care was measured using Nursing care scale developed by YuKyeong Oh (2011). Data were collected from July 1 to October 31, 2013.

Results: The level of patient¡¯s satisfaction with nursing care in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (t=8.36, p=.001) but anxiety was not significantly different (t=.29, p=.760).

Conclusion: These findings suggested that video education could be an effective strategy for nursing intervention to laparoscopic hysterectomy patients admitted in the ward.
